FRSC Begins 24 Hours Patrol Over RCCG Convention At Redeem Camp

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun State sector, has begun a 24-hour patrol to prevent gridlock during the ongoing convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
State Sector Commander, FRSC, Mr. Christopher Ademiluti, told our correspondent on the telephone that the corps had mapped out three strategies to tackle gridlock during the convention and the Eid-el-Filtri celebration.
The sector commander said, “To ensure there is no gridlock on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, we have consulted the RCCG and Julius Berger Construction Company to give facelift to the bad portions on the road.
“There is a bad portion in front of the Redemption Camp and another one after Deeper Life Church. We held a meeting with them and they agreed to repair them.”
He said the sector had collapsed its operations in the hinterland command to ensure release of patrol vehicles and men to complement those commands on the expressway.
Ademiluti said, “We have received one patrol vehicle each from Abeokuta, Ijebu Ode, Ogere, Shagamu and Agbado units. With this mobilisation, we will be able to police the road on 24-hour basis.
“We have identified some black spots where we will put our people and patrol vans to prevent people from taking one-way.”
He said there would not be mobile court to try offenders but errant motorists would have their vehicles impounded.
He added that such impounded vehicle would not be released until after seven days to act as a deterrent.
RCCG commenced its 61st annual convention at its camp- Redemption Camp- on Kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Monday.
The convention, with the theme, ‘Jesus,’ would  hold between August 5 and August 11.
The convention began on Monday with the ordination of deacons and deaconesses, while the church performed the ordination of assistant pastors on Tuesday.
The programme  booklet showed that pastors from the Redeemed Bible College would be graduated on Wednesday, while on Thursday, there would be deliverance and anointing service.
It further indicated that the Holy Ghost service would take place on Friday while Saturday would be the Holy Communion service.
On Sunday, the ordination of full pastors would be performed as well as thanksgiving service.
