Ibinabo Suspends Actors Guild Members

As the relative peace witnessed in the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN,  in  the past six months looks set for  disruption, President of the Guild, Ibinabo Fiberesima, may have decided to wield the big stick by firing some erring members.
Ibinabo, blowing hot during the week, unleashed her ultimate power during a press conference held at the  Guild’s national headquarters in Surulere, Lagos.

She said the affected members were  suspended from the Guild for offences ranging from anti-Guild activities to corruption and related breaches.
According to her, while one of the contestants of the last Lagos State Chapter election, Don Pedro Aganbi and some of his supporters  have been suspended indefinitely for allegedly running a parallel AGN, an offence which she said was totally against the constitution of the Guild, former Secretary-General, Emeka Rollas, has been expelled as well as the erstwhile Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Guild, Mr. Emeka Rising.
Ibinabo disclosed further that a panel has  already been set up to probe the former Secretary-General for fraudulent and criminal activities, including forgery and embezzlement.
Also, the AGN president declared former Lagos State Chairman, Emeka Rising Ibeh, as an expelled member of the Guild for anti- Guild offences, corruption and treasonable felony. The leadership of the  Guild also announced  the impeachment of the National Public Relations Officer, Frank Dallas, promising, however, to fill the vacant position as soon as possible.   Other members suspended were Chima Doris, Tunde Talabi, Stella Marris Nnaji, Fred Ekata and St. Matthew Emeka.
Hear her verdict: “Concerning the last Lagos State chapter election, the National Executive Council will not tolerate indiscipline  in this Guild any more. You cannot claim to be a chairman. When you feel aggrieved about the outcome of an election, the best thing to do is to file a complaint and allow the national executive look into it, and not running down the same Guild you want to lead.”
“As I speak to you, I have not received a petition about any election. We are  not going to tolerate that any more.  As from today,he stands suspended from the Guild.”
