They were charged with attempted robbery, conspiracy and willful damage. The convicts were found guilty of count three and sentenced to six months imprisonment.
While on counts one and two, they were also found guilty of robbing one Mrs. Ajayi Kofoworola of N1, 500 and thereby sentenced to life imprisonment.
Justice J. O Adeyeye, in his judgment, said based on the evidence before the court and the testimony of the witnesses, he found the accused persons guilty and, therefore, sentenced them to life imprisonment.

  7. This story is incomplete. Armed robbery means robbery with arms, did they shoot in the process? Did they kill? Or mere extortion. There is no way this would elicit life sentence. How can 2 grown men rob sum1 of N1,500? Sorry CKN, this story lacks substance

  11. D judge that gave this judgement must be derobed. It is only in our country that we have two laws - soft judgement for d big men billion dollar robbers and hard judgement for poor commoners in d country. Imagine 1500 naira for life imprisonment. Lord save the poor people of this country.

  15. I won't blame the judge, the story might be incomplete.but really, two people sentenced to life imprisonment with 1500 theft case is not funny @ all, more needs to be done to be able to bring justice to whatever crime people commits, haba life sentence for 1500 is too much, not fair.

  16. CKN, Don't assume everyone knows who is in the picture. Who (the thief, judge, journalist) and what is the relevance and the need?

  17. I blame those thieves, we are in a country were those that stole billioins are set free & those that try 2 steal like 2k are sentence 2 death. Use ur head, don't steal from d poor rather if u want 2 steal u can go & rob d govt or d bank.
