FIVE persons were feared dead yesterday after an 11-man robbery gang
stormed a first generation bank in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area,
carting away millions of naira. It was gathered that the gang, armed with
sophisticated weapons blew-up the bank vault. An eye witness account said the
bank robbers shot sporadically into the air to scare bystanders. Customers who
had besieged the banking hall particularly to make withdrawal for the weekend
scampered for safety, it was learnt. The incident which occurred in the morning
lasted several minutes without any challenge from the security agents located a
few meters from the Divisional Police Headquarters Agbor. Several people were
reportedly rushed to General Hospital, Agbor for medical attention. Delta State
Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Lucky Uyabeme, who confirmed the incident,
said: “We have intensified a full-scale man-hunt for the fleeing robbers

ReplyDeleteA police friend once told me that it's safer to allow the robbers to have their way, then pick them up later to avoid serious casualty. Sincerely,if police should face them, we'll counting many. lost of lives. For me, it security cannot prevent them, then the robbers should be avoid while the operation is going on to save lives.
