A Church attacked by Boko Haram in the past |
Four churches were bombed and burnt in attacks attributed
to Boko Haram in Borno State at the weekend. Archbishop Ignatius Ayau Kaigama of Jos, the
President of the Nigerian bishops’ conference, told the Fides news service that
the army had moved in to the area in the northern Borno state, bringing a
greater sense of security to the population, after the attacks on churches,
which were followed by the looting of stored food and livestock.
The raids were likely the work of Boko Haram units, in
coordination with Islamist groups that have been ousted from neighboring Mali,
the archbishop said. He called for a “regional approach” to the violence, in
which authorities from Nigeria, Niger, and Mail would work together against the
Islamic militants.

People will rise against them.
Their fathers will fight against them
Their mothers will push them out
The society will outcast them
They will feel a deep sense of reject
Their peace ended the first day they decide to take blood

Does he need to be known who created the bounds of the earth
Does he need to be fought for who made the starry skies and the fearful seas
Do you know how he made the snows
How he caused the plants to grow
