The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) said
it sent a ‘high powered’ delegation of senior officers to Borno, Yobe and
Adamawa to assess the ongoing operations in the states.
Brig.-Gen. Chris Olukolade, Director
of Defence Information, said this in a telephone interview with NAN in Abuja on
Thursday.
Olukolade, who is part of the
eight-man delegation, said that the team is expected to report their findings
to the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Ibrahim.
It is recalled that on May 14,
President Goodluck Jonathan, declared a state of emergency in Borno, Adamawa
and Yobe,
Jonathan also directed the Chief of
Defence Staff to deploy more troops to the three states.
Since the declaration of the state of
emergency one month ago, the DHQ said it had dislodged camps of the insurgents
