Couple,4 Children Die In PH Fire Incident

A tragic fire incident which occurred in the early hours of Saturday has claimed the lives of a couple and four of their Children in Port Harcourt.

The victims, a taxi driver, wife a petty trade and both hail from Anambra State and resident at no 17 new estate road, Railway Quarters according to eye witness were trapped in the inferno which started at about 1.00am.

Eye witness said the children were three boys and a girl and age between 22 to 7 while the only survivor of the family were two girls who were taking the current WACE examination outside Port Harcourt when the incident occurred.

Narrating the incident the landlord of the house who pleaded anonymity told our reporter that he heard an explosion thrice and before help came the entire buildings were in flames. He said properties worth millions of naira were destroyed.

He said the remains of the victims have been taken to the morgue.

When contacted the State Police public relation Officer DSP Angela Agabe said she heard about the incident but is yet to be briefed by the DPO in charge of the area.
