The University of
Ilorin has expelled 44 students of the institution over various acts of
misconduct.
The list of the
affected students which cuts across various departments and faculties was
pasted at the designated students’ notice boards on the university main campus.
Among the expelled
as observed by our correspondent who visited the university yesterday were two
students who have been in the university since 2003 for a four-year course.
It was gathered
that the expulsion was the outcome of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee
(SDC) meeting of February, 2013 which sat on various acts of misconduct
levelled against the students. They students were said to have been involved in
examination malpractice and belonging to unregistered associations among
others.
Dean of Students’
Affairs in the institution, Professor Abayomi Omotesho, said the affected
students did not conduct themselves properly and advised other students to
familiarize themselves with the university’s rules and regulations.
