Two students are reported to have
been killed this morning at the Olabisi Onabanjo University [OOU] in Abeokuta,
the capital of Ogun State, as policemen confronted with violence students
involved in a peaceful protest.
A source in the institution said the
premises turned riotous with students and staff of the institution dashing
into nearby bushes for safety.
A student union executive who spoke
to SaharaReporters on the phone he was hiding in a bush. Eyewitness accounts
said the police arrived at the entrance of the campus in armored tanks and began
shooting sporadically into the air. It is not yet clear whether the two
students killed were deliberately aimed at or killed by stray bullets.
Saharareporters gathered that the
State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, ordered the policemen to the campus
upon learning that they had started a protest against some harsh policies of
the school management.

ReplyDeleteD same tin happen at nassarawa uni sometimes ago. Instead of dose stupid cult boys 2 b killing their fellow students, I think they kan make a right choice by using their guns on the police.
