THE National Council on Privatisation (NCP) has announced
the successful bidders who have been able to scale the evaluation stage
for both Kaduna Distribution Company and Afam Generation Company.
Chairman of NCP Technical Committee,
Atedo Peterside, who briefed State House correspondents after a meeting
presided over by Vice President Namadi Sambo, in Abuja, on Monday, said the
successful companies would now proceed to the next state of commercial
bidding process.
He revealed that out of the 11
original bidders for Kaduna Distribution Company, seven emerged successful and
were invited to the financial bid opening stage.
The pre-qualified bidders are Axis
Power Distribution Ltd, Nahco Consortium, Incar Power Ltd, Aiteo Consortium,
LEDA Consortium, Northwest Power Ltd and Copperbelt Consortium.
For Afam, he said four bidders
crossed the evaluation stage out of nine, which name the NCP gave as Primeniza
Energy Ltd, Televas Group, Forby Energy Ltd and TES Power Ltd.
Peterside noted that for any bidder
to qualify for the commercial bidding stage, it had to score 75 per cent.
