Adenuga Needs N10m For Kidney Transplant

When Ijebu-Igbo-born Aderemilekun Adenuga was going for his National Youth Service Corps in Akwa Ibom State, little did he know he would come back home with kidney failure, but he did.  In this report, Yemis Iyilade reveals the pains of the young man, whose life hangs in the balance except Nigerians rally round to help with the N10 million, his 79-year-old mother could not afford to raise.
“Life is a misery that can’t be unfolded with the ordinary eyes of humans. Each day brings with it ups and downs, sometimes it comes smooth and many times, we battle with its roughness”  these were the words of Chief Olumide Bayode, the chairman of  Yoruba Indigenes Foundation, Lagos, who spoke to the Nigerian Tribune on the plight of one Mr Aderemilkun Adenuga.
Chief Bayode had implored Nigerian Tribune to help solicit for humnitarian public support of well-meaning Nigerians to help raise N10 million needed to fund the medical and transportation expenses for a kidney transplant for Mr Aderemilekun Adenuga, an indigene of Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State. Adenuga has been battling an acute kidney failure since August 2011.
“His 79 -year -old mother, a retired headmistress, who lived on the penies she gets from her pension allowance, had spent all her savings on the treatment of her son, Adenuga. Our foundation had equally spent a huge amount of money on the promising young engineer and a member of the Yoruba Indigene Foundation since he was diagnosed of kidney failure” Chief Bayode explained.
According to Nigerian Tribune’s investigations, Adenuga has been receiving treatment in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital and is receiving dialysis treatment at the Life Support Medical Centre, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, until he was advised to go for a kidney transplant either in India or the United State, said Chief Bayode.
Adenuga’s kidney failure was detected during his National Youth Service year, while serving at Akwa Ibom State. He is a graduate of Engineering from the Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Well-meaning Nigerians who are willing to assist Adenuga should pay into this bank account, 1762720710 Skye bank, Ogudu Branch, Lagos with the account name Adenuga Aderemilekun Oduntan.
