The president has finally granted amnesty to the dreaded boko haram
members and the program will start from first week of may 2013.The amnesty package proposed by northern elders and approved by the presidency is as follows:
1. A ministry of Northern affairs must be establish
2. Each Boko haram member who embraces the amnesty will receive an initial cash reward of 3 million naira to start up a business.
3. Boko haram members who embrace the amnesty program will be giving a house by the FG
4. Boko haram leaders who embraced the amnesty program will be giving a cash gift of 20 million naira each and other juicy packages will also follow
5. Selected boko haram members from each zone will be taken abroad for training, just as the Niger delta militants enjoyed.
6. Each boko haram member will be on a monthly salary of N100,000 for a period of 3 years.
7. FG must rebuild borno, yobe and other state they claimed the JTF destroyed.
8. Security contract will be given to Boko haram leaders to secure the north.
8. JTF will be completely withdrawn from the northern states, where boko haram operates.

ReplyDeleteThe boko haram members in turn should use the 20 millions given to each of their leaders to rebuild the burnt and bombed churches and should also use part of the money to compensate those victims who lost their bread winners or any member of their family. And this is without prejudice to their so called right to amnesty, it should be justice and equality as the constitution happens to be the guiding principle. Just like one of the famous maxims of equity says " he who comes to equity must come with clean hands".

GEJ is a normal human being like you he can make mistakes and he can do good, but writing all these sort of statements is not what will bring peace and unionism in this conutry. The issue on ground is what was done was already done, none of us can reverse it. The most important aspect is will there be any plan on ground to avoid the occurrance of this kind of insurgence in the country? Is the govt ready to fight poverty and insecurity?, will the govt ever remove religious bias in its system? Will the govt stop its own insurgence on masses, is the govt ready to fight illiteracy in the country? Will the govt utilise its abundance natural resources in the right way? These and so many problems we inherited in nigeria are always unanswered. This is something we all knew there is nothing like respect, care and love of one another in this country. Let's not forget dat Bill on Graduates remuneration of N10,000 was presented by a Senator and rejected by the Senate President but can pay BH N100,000 monthly and cash upfront of N3m to be paid to each member of BH sect. Aaha is this fair? If another group spring up tomorrow don't be surprised because FG doesn't think of the consequences of her action.
