PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated Globacom
chairman, Dr Mike Adenuga, on his 60th birthday.
He led the
pack of other eminent Nigerians paying tribute to the celebrant.
The president,
in a message by Dr Reuben Abati, described Adenuga as “an embodiment of the
ideals of diligence, commitment, unmediated patriotism and selfless service,”
adding that “you are celebrating 60 years of a remarkable life filled with
monumental achievements in high entrepreneurship, philanthropy and dedicated
service to God and country.”
Former
military president, General Ibrahim Babangida; Senate President, David Mark;
Ibadan-based businessman, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Arisekola Alao; Senator Ayo Arise
and Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, also paid glowing tributes to Adenuga.
Also speaking
on Adenuga, the Awujale of of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, described him as
“a prized asset for the country.”
President of
Confederation of African Football, Issa Hayatou, observed that Adenuga had not
only affected Africa positively though his business accomplishments, but has
also been the pillar of sports in the continent.
Two prominent
journalists, Dele Momodu and Mike Awoyinfa, in their columns, commended Adenuga
for his resilience, business acumen, outstanding achievements and exemplary
humility.
