The Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State Mr
Ayodele Adewale has been accused of using the State Security Service (SSS) to
detain an innocent Nigerian at the Magodo office of the agency
According to a petition sent to CKN Nigeria by the lawyer to the
detainee,Barr Osita Raymond,the Chairman was alleged to have arrested and
handed over a certain Yinka Owosanya aka Yukubu to the SSS over his broken car
wind shield .
The chairman accused the culprit of damaging his car, used his position
as a Local Government Chairman to invite the SSS (Instead of Police), who
whisked him away to the Lagos Headquarters of the agency in Magodo from Amuwo
Odofin
All attempt made to get the accused charged to court or released by the
SS has proved abortive for over a week.
Barrister Osita stated that when he in company of another Lawyer went to
the SSS office today to seek ways of getting their client released, they were
manhandled by men of the agency who also threatened to shoot them.
While the accused has denied being responsible for the broken wind
shield, all attempt by CKN Nigeria to speak with the LGA Chairman has been
unsuccessful..
