Police Bans Tinted Glass Cars In Nigeria

The Inspector General of Police has said that most of the cars used by terrorists have been linked to tinted glasses as nobody sees the evil perpetrators who carry out the deadly acts.
Consequent upon this development, The police IG, M.D. Abubakar, said this has the capacity not only to heighten criminal activities, but to place unnecessary pressure on security agencies and law abiding citizens.
The IGP reminded “Nigerians from all walks of life, including politicians, military and security personnel that the ban on unlawful and indiscriminate use of tinted glasses and legislations forbidding the plying of unregistered vehicles on our highways, are still very much in force.
The IGP has therefore directed all Zonal AIGs and state Command Commissioners of Police to arrest and bring to book, in line with extant laws, all defaulters.
According to him, Nigeria Police Force will no longer tolerate the habit of few misguided Nigerians who wantonly abuse the use of tinted glasses and unregistered/unlicensed vehicles, thereby complicating the challenge of effectively policing the country and equally endangering the lives and property of law abiding citizens.”

  3. This one is arrant NONSENSE!!! U pple are short of ideas on how to tackle the security situation in Nigeria, shikena. Okada is aiding robbery, u ban them. Tinted glass is aiding boko haram, ban vehicles with it. If u ban vehicles wit tinted glass, do u think bombing will stop? If it doesn't stop then, u will say vehicle is what they use like Okada, u will ban vehicles too? Boko haram uses army uniform and police uniform, u will ban army and police from putting on uniform too. Clueless people!

  4. Placing ban on vehicles with tinted glass is not a good security approach.the security agencies have failed to do there job well espacially the police, they see them ply major roads where they are on duty they won't stop and search them rather collect there usuall bribe and let go this evil doers.when fail in your duty please go back and restrategise not ban of tinteds u will also brake the same law which u set.to be frank police is working but we all need to help them do better. As for this ban is nonsense.

  11. To the IG its very good u ve created an avenue for ur men to extort money from the average Nigerians. But u ve failed to realize some vehicles have factory fitted tinted glass, what will the owners of this vehicles do park them at home.I just know we are making life difficult for our selves.

  12. MR IG, U do not have power to ban tinted glass. Just do a background check on anyone who needs permit for factory fitted tinted windows. There is a law permitting it, your job is to issue permit to deserving citizens. Sun shines too much, heat dey too much, and some cars just come with it. Even the Police HQ was not bombed with tinted car and almost all police men use tinted glass that is not factory fitted. so better reason well

  13. Car owners remain police greatest source of income. So they will always find a way to extort. We all know tinted glass is not allowed. But there are exceptions, now both unlawful and authorised are being hounded. Police even extort a lot of money to issue permits. So I don't blame those who don't have d permit. We r now at the mercy of vagabonds in power. Meanwhile they all use it, and are d guilty. God help uS and save nigeria

  15. Is this include factory fitted tinted? If yes, why don't you ban factory fitted tinted cars coming to naija, to show how mumu you are.... Tinted permit is 40,000 to 50,000 naira... This money is going to police puse... Don't you think those criminals they will also get the permit? You better think well!
