ABIA State Government, yesterday, demolished some property belonging to
a suspected kidnap and armed robbery kingpin, Olisagbo Ifedke, alias Ofeakwu.
The Government demolished Akoto Bar and Resort Ltd, a relaxation centre allegedly owned by the suspect who was arrested last year in Anambra State.
The demolished relaxation centre was located at No. 2, Afaraukwu Road, beside Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Umuahia.
Also demolished was a twin bungalow in Agbama Housing Estate in the city which also belonged to the suspected criminal.
The demolishing team was led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Task Force and Allied Matters, Capt. Awa Udonsi Agwu (rtd)
According to Agwu, the demolished buildings, after investigations, were discovered to be property of the suspected kidnapper hence the decision to destroy them.
It will be recalled the Anambra State Government last year, also demolished some property belonging to the suspect in the state.
Explaining to newsmen why the property were destroyed, Agwu said after thorough investigation, his task force received a letter from the Office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, directing it to demolish the buildings found out to belong to the suspected kidnapper.
He explained that the wife of the suspect had earlier removed all the valuables in the property, but said that police had recovered some of them.
Agwu added that an empty plot of land belonging to the suspect situated close to the Akoto Resort had equally been discovered, saying, “I will report back to the governor on the new development and he will give us the directive on the next line of action
