Asaba, a bank manager with First Bank Nigeria Plc branch at Ilasa-Ekiti in
Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, has been dragged before an
Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for an alleged robbery.
Asaba was arraigned along with four others; Akeem Ahmed, Banji Adedayo, Dele Ajayi and Tajudeen Salawu, for the same offence.
The five accused persons were at the court on Tuesday before Magistrate Adefunke Ajibade.
They were accused of committing the alleged crime on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Ilasa-Ekiti branch of First Bank and made away with N7.833 million.
The prosecutor, Cpl Curtis Enabulele, said the bank manager conspired with the others to rob the bank.
He further alleged that four of the accused standing trial robbed the Divisional Police Armoury and carted away four AK47 riffles, handcuffs, smoke gummer, one Beretta pistol, and cartridges.
Enabulele told the court that four policemen were allegedly killed by the accused persons during the operation which they operated with explosives.
The bank manager’s counsel begged for bail for him but the judge ordered that the bank manager and the other accused persons be remanded in Ado-Ekiti prison.
She then adjourned the case to April 10 for further hearing.

ReplyDeleteDid the manager and the four others give out information that llead to the stealing or actually participated in the stealing themselves,yet to be clearified.The closure of the branch,stress we corpers to be travelling all along to Ikole branch and some to Iyamoye in Kogi state 4 withdrawal.Let them reopen and save people the stress.Lington from Onuaku.
