  1. There were stars indeed.oh! Their voices were something else.NTA should should run a documentary on them as a mark of appreciation. In d radio ,were people like Zakari Mohammed, Soni Irabor etc. I almost forgot the world football commentator,Earnest Okonkwo. I miss them all.

  2. I was in the NLNG boat going to Bonny from Port Harcourt, and there at my extreme right was Sienne Allwell Brown, I was seeing her for the first time in real life. Hysterically, I greeted her good afternoon to which she responded with a smile. Occationally I took some look at this woman who made me love the NTA 9 O'clock news. In her days, news casters could pronounce any name and any word in any language just exactly as the owners of the language would. They came to face the camera well prepared. This quality is no longer there among our contemporary news casters. Sienne Allwell Brown and her contemporaries taught me the value of good spoken english. As we disembarked from the boat, I walked behind her to catch a better view from behind of a woman who have partly imparted my life.

Hysterically, I said good afternoon to which she responded with a smile. Occasionally, I stole a look of this woman who made me love the NTA 9 O'clock news way back in the 70s and 80s. In her days, news casters could pronounce any name or any word in any language just exactly as the owners of the language would. It was obvious that news casters then came to face the camera well prepared. This quality is no longer there among the contemporary news casters.
