Marijuana Sales Take Over Abuja Streets..CKN Investigation

Marijuana stuffed in between cigarettes in Wuse 2

Banned drug substance Marijuana (Igbo) has flooded the streets of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja according to an investigation carried out by CKN Nigeria.
Our investigation showed that the banned substance is not only freely sold at motor parks as the case in Lagos State and other States of the Federation...It is now freely displayed and sold on the streets  of Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria without and hindrance.
They are displayed in the full glare of the public by sellers of cigarettes popularly known as “mallam” or mai taba.
The drugs were wrapped in white papers in the form of cigarettes and stuffed in between packs of branded cigarettes, sweets and other wares sold by the hawkers.
The sale spread across the major centers in the city like Garki,Wuse,Maitama,Asokoro,Kado Estate, Gwarinpa ,Kubwa,Sun City,Games Village,Lugbe and other neighboring villages surrounding the city.
Young men (and in some instances) ladies as young as 16 years and above  are seen puffing away the drug.
When CKN Nigeria crew approached some of the sellers for verification, they confirmed it and even went as far as saying its becoming lucrative.
They also confirm as their patrons, members of the armed forces, police, top politicians, civil servants, prostitutes, artisans and students.
A wrap goes for as cheap as N20.
These two pictures as captured by us, was taken this morning at one of the popular streets in Wuse 2, Abuja.
It’s yet to be seen how the NDLEA and other security agencies are going to cope with the upsurge in consumption of marijuana In the FCT.
