Sen Chris Anyanwu Slaps Rochas ADC

Senator Chris Anyanwu (APGA, Imo) said security aides attached to Governor Rochas Okorocha clashed with her aides in Owerri Wednesday night.
She said the governors security guards attacked and brutalised her drivers in what depicts growing political tension between the two former allies.
Briefing newsmen yesterday in her residence in Owerri, Anyanwu said the ugly incident occurred between 6-7pm when the governor’ convoy swerved into her own convoy at Azara Egbelu along Owerri/Umuahia road on her way to her village.
She explained that initially her convoy did not notice that of the governor as there was no sign but eventually cleared off only to be attacked by security men attached to Okorocha’s convoy.
The senator said the voice and cries of her drivers forced her to come down from her car to beg the security details not to kill them.
Reacting in a press statement issued to newsmen in Owerri yesterday, media aide to the governor, Mr Ebere Uzoukwa said Okorocha also narrowly escaped death when the convoy  of Senator Anyanwu rammed into his convoy on the same day.
He said the governor was returning from Ihitte-Uboma after an official assignment when the incident took place at Azaraegbelu along Owerri/Umuahia express way.

According to the statement, the senator’s vehicles suddenly rammed into the governor’s convoy close to the staff car cutting off the lead security vehicle after overtaking dangerously and in a very suspicious manner.
The situation according to him having posed a serious security threat forced the security men in the governor’s convoy into gallant struggle to shield the governor against the possible attack before the vehicles were dispatched from the convoy.
The SA expressed surprise that the senator when alerted from her vehicle slapped both the governor’s aide camp and chief detail and even ordered her naval security person to open fire.
