Immediate
assistance is needed from well-meaning citizens to save the life of Mrs Toyin
Okere, whom we learnt is going through a battle to save her life.
As
a follow up to an email CKN Nigeria received, we had a follow up chat with
Toyin’s sister who narrated the ideal her sister has passed through in other to
live.
This
is Toyin Okere’s sister Ibukun unedited narration of her state of health.
“My
name is Ibukun Kuye but the cry is not for me but my sister who is
and has been lying down on a spot for a year and 5months. She
delivered a baby on Tuesday 15th of July, 2011 and few days later her
house was flooded by rain she had to vacate her apartment and was
staying at a neighbours place to take care of other kids and her new
baby but on the 8th day which is 12th of July she felt weak and her
husband took her to a private hospital nearer to their house from
there she was referred to island maternity but on the way to island
maternity, she convulsed and pass out from their she went into coma
and two days later she was referred to Lagos University Teaching
Hospital(LUTH). We got to LUTH at around 11pm on the 14th of July
after several issues they were able to admit her finally around 2am
she was in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for few month where we spend lots
of money on daily medications for her and couple of months later while
she was still in coma they brought her out of ICU and took her to the
ward saying she’s out of danger,of all the people that shared the
intensive care unit with her, at her earlier arrival, to the Glory of
God and shame to the devil, she is the only survivor, needless to say
that I strongly believe that God has a special assignment for her.
She has chronic Intestine disorder that has affected all her body system
My sister Toyin Okere is a very vibrant and energetic woman for the Lord,
she attends programs in many different churches, Up until now, she has
lost weight significantly, developed sever bed sore, muscle weakness
and thinness of skin. Several millions of Naira has been exhausted,
with the whole extended family in various kind of debts. My husband
has been retrenched from the bank since November 2011, her own
husband has been jobless making her the bread winner of her family,
our own parents used to minister in the Assemblies of God church, but
my father was retrenched immediately he lost his hearing and developed
Diabetics much earlier in the year 2007.
Outstanding debt at the intensive care unit and the general ward she
presently occupies, is running to about N2,000,000.00 while the
doctors and the consultant are indirectly suggesting we take her
abroad.
The other members of the family and I, are at a loss for decision and
action mostly because we do not have the resources to draw from than
to seek help from all avenues.
As much as we would value and appreciate your prayers, we equally
solicit your assistance, as we are at a loss.”
