THE
MEETING HITS THE CINEMAS ON FRIDAY NOVEMBER 23, 2012, CAST MEMBERS TO BE AT
DIFFERENT CINEMAS
The much awaited cinematic debut of The Audrey Silva
Company (TASC), The Meeting hits cinemas across the country on Friday November
23, the producers have revealed. The
company also said that stars in the movie would at different cinemas where the movie
is showing all through the first three days.
Mildred Okwo, Managing Director at TASC and Director of
The movie explained that the company is now satisfied with the quality of the
production, the main reason why the theatrical release was suspended after the
hugely successful premiere on October 19, 2012. It would be recalled that both
President Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo sent highed powered
delegations to the premiere which held at the Oriental Hotels, Victoria Island,
Lagos. Okwo informed that every effort has been put into seeing that The
Meeting is presented to Nigerians with highest possible quality of sound and
pictures.
Silverbird Distribution Limited will distribute the
movie, which has been described as an “ambitious and
amazing movie which is a worthy representative of the new Nollywood” by award
winning novelist and poet, Toni Kan
Kan in a review published in a number of Nigerian
newspapers further said of The Meeting: “The Meeting is in many ways a reflection of
Nigeria. While the Minister’s “Waiting Room” redefines the term waiting room,
it is on a larger scale symptomatic of Nigeria where red tape and officialdom
have left us stuck in stasis. The film delivers a
sucker punch when Ejura says to Makinde; “How did you think you could close a deal in Abuja
in one day with a government minister?”The Meeting is the kind of movie
that makes us laugh just so it can stop us from crying...The cast of characters is a Casting Director’s wet dream and Mildred
Okwo employs them to devastating effect. But the beauty of it all is that the
Director manages to elevate this movie which is touted as a romantic comedy far
beyond the normal Nollywood farce which passes for comedy.
Nigerians will see a totally different
Rita Dominic in The Meeting which also stars Jide Kosoko, Kate Hensaw-Nuttal,
Basorge Tariah, Nse Ikpe-Etim and Chinedu
Ikedieze. It introduces the duo of Femi Jacobs and
Linda Ejiofor in leading roles.
A MORD Pictures production forTASC, The
Meeting is produced by Rita
Dominic and Mildred Okwo written by Tunde Babalola. The story set in
Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory and revolves around the frustrations
and eventual triumph of Makinde Esho(Femi Jacobs), a Lagos based corporate
executive. It is a movie which tells an authentic Nigerian story
