Construction has begun on GMP’s latest overseas project,
the NV Nightclub. It is part of the 5-star All Seasons Hotel and found in the
city of Owerri, the capital of Nigeria’s Imo State.
Through featuring celebrity DJ’s and the employment of
state-of-the-art DJ systems such as ‘The Emulator’, the NV Nightclub regularly
attracts thousands of clubbers from all over Imo State. Known as the
‘Heartland’, Owerri is the entertainment capital of Nigeria and home to half a
million people. A large fraction of this population is made up of students,
being home to both Imo State University and the Nigerian Federal University of
Technology.
Director of GMP, Neil Morton, said “This is the second
prestigious international contract won by us in a very short space of time;
it’s testament to the worldwide reputation of GMP Design. The start of 2012 was
a very busy time for us and we now anticipate that pace to be maintained
throughout the year.”
GMP has worked on numerous projects all over the world,
including the international rollout of the world famous Ministry of Sound
nightclubs, with venues in Bangkok, Singapore, Egypt, London and Taiwan.
The £500,000 job is scheduled to be complete in October
2012 and will be a late-night hotspot for the people of Owerri.
Meanwhile One of the top night clubs in Nigeria has
drafted in a Rugeley leisure company, GMP Design to design a major half-million
pound transformation of its premises. The new night club interior will include
a number of GMP’s latest club advances. These include the world’s first
“Emulator DJ” glass touchscreen DJ unit, and revolutionary celebrity booths that
transform from a seating booth into a dancing area. The Nigerian contract is
the second major international night club design project landed by GMP Design
in little more than a month. Earlier, GMP clinched a prestige deal to design a
major revamp for the Coco Night Club and Sports Bar in Georgetown, Guyana.
