Mr. Micheal Suaib, husband of a popular Nollywood
actress, Nancy Suaib, has pleaded with the Agege Customary Court, Lagos, to
dissolve his marriage.
He claims his wife is not submissive, she flirts and
that they have other irreconcilable differences.
Suaib told the court that he got married to his wife 19
years ago in the traditional way.
The 52-year-old man said that although Nancy gave birth
to three children for him, there was no more reason for her to be his wife
because she had demonstrated that she was no longer interested in the marriage.
He said Nancy had been going in and out of her
matrimonial home on many occasions without notice, adding that he started
suspecting his wife when he got to know that once she was nowhere to be found
on location.
He claimed that the first time Nancy moved out, he threatened
to sue for divorce.
Suaib said that Nancy had confessed having illicit
affairs on location.
He said he pleaded with her to let both of them drop
their quarrel after they had a scuffle and think of the welfare of their
children, but she refused.
He, therefore, urged the court to dissolve the marriage
and grant him the custody of the children, because he has been responsible for
their upkeep. Nancy was not present in court.
The court presided over by Emmanuel Shokunle, adjourned
the case till Sept. 12, 2012.
On the adjourned date, Suaib was in court to hear its
decision but Nancy was not available.
The court said that the evidence before it showed that
the marriage had broken down.
Shokunle, therefore, dissolved the marriage and granted
Suaib the custody of the children.
He said the children could visit their mother any time.
