  • Ify-asia Chiemeziem Arabs have always regardes those with black skins as slaves - kafir. That you are a moslem like them doesn't change their warped and wicked perceptions about you. How many of those super-wealthy Arab countries help the poor in Africa or even any other part of the world? Look at Dubai and the Emirate, with all the billions of dollars they are throwing around - in building useless babylonian structures and camel racing and silver cars -all from the West - they hate sharing a penny with outsiders. they also make sure those that work in their countries can never bring their families. They even go as far as cutting off their women's citizenships if they marry outsiders. With all the porverty among Muslims in Africa, especially Nigeria how many charity set-up are provided by the muslem Arabs? How many schools have they built or donations have they given? They only incite hatred against the West who are even more generous than they are? Nigerian muslem pilgrims have been dying in silence regarding the humiliating way they are treated in Saudi, it is time they stand and demand their rights if they must go to Saudi for pilgrimage. this is what Malcolm X discovered as a muslem when he went to Saudi that shocked him.

  • Jadidah Osa @ GODWIN ONYEBUCHI MUOTTOH, HE IS MY PRESIDENT AND THAT GIVES ME A RIGHT TO HOLD HIM ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS ACIONS AND HOW HE DEALS WITH THE AFFAIRS OF THE COUNTRY. AND ITS QUITE SAD AND SHAMEFUL THAT YOU DON'T GET IT..ANYWAYS, LIKE SOMEONE ELSE ALREADY SAID ABOVE, IF YOU'RE SICK GO SEE A DOCTOR. BUT I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT THERE IS A CURE FOR YOUR OWN IGNORANCE. • Erinna Jessica Mamo Nicely put Jadidah...
  • Tunde Arogunmati Govt has no business conducting Hajj or JP (Israel); it's purely a religious tourism affair; let the professionals - in this case, tour operators - do their job in tandem with airlines such as Qatar, Emirates, Arik et al who have the capacity. The political hubris applicable will be at a bare minimum because the professionals will be in charge in a sustainable atmosphere, providing more jobs, improved customer service and brand integrity across board!
  • Erinna Jessica Mamo Yes the government does have a business if the people's lives are at risk, for example, citizens being held for no just cause in a different country should be a matter of urgency for the government in a country where things are done right....i remember a few years ago in the United states, when a reporter was held crossing the boarder between south korea or so...and because they claim that she crossed the boarder illegally, she was sentenced to 25yrs imprisonment. If not for the intervention of the United state government, that lady would still be in jail, and probably die there. So YES, the government DO have a say!
  • Godwin Onyebuchi Muottoh @Erinna, Everyone has the right to Freedom of speech i agree, but that does not give us the right to make unguarded statements. You can critic your President constructively and not passing insults at him, that is my stand. @ Jadidah you can fume all you want but learn to criticize constructively and stop all these name calling ok
  • Tunde Arogunmati @Erinna; .. please do not get me wrong - government has a responsibility regarding protecting it's citizens at all times - my point here is that this situation has arisen majorly out of the fact that the organisers are not professional tour operators and have embarrassed these unfortunate folk because they have undertaken a project way out of their jurisdiction of competence!
  • Jadidah Osa @ GODWIN ONYEBUCHI, *FUME" KE? I AM NOT FUMING AT YOU OR AT ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER. HOW CAN I "FUME' AT SOMEONE THAT I DON'T KNOW? BESIDES, YOU ARE WAY TO IRRELEVANT TO MY TO FUME OVER TRUST ME...WAY TOO IRRELEVANT. I'VE GOT "BETTER FISH TO FRY" LOL...AGAIN, TOODLES!
  • Tunde Arogunmati Regarding the govt's response, I believe that the Ag President, Namadi Sambo has taken direct action in this respect by summoning the Saudi Ambassador and suspending further airlifts until further notice.
  • Erinna Jessica Mamo @ Tunde, i understand what you are saying, chances are, I do not know the whole story as it happened. And so, i can not say for certain that i know exactly what is going on. However, these are situations that can escalate so quickly if not handled with caution. And caution means, the government steps in as early as possible. These Arabs can be funny at times. Thats all i'm saying. Cheers!

  • Funmi Davies Farodoye Hey ya! It is just unfortunate for these women,as going to Haji is purely to serve Allah but b'cos of d way we are in Nigeria and the things they know about us,has made it impossible for unaccompanied women not to entice their men, behave unchecked without a husband or father and elope with different suitors. Let us begin to change d way we are as this is d only way we will be proud of our Country and not get treated as an unwanted guest anywhere else.
  • Olushina Taiwo Very soon Togo & Benin Rep will soon 2 deport our citizens. Our Foreign Affairs ministry are only interested in dollar. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to retaliate. They ve Oil in abundance. Shame 2 our leaders 4 causing all dis mess.
