Mixed Reaction Trails Dana,As Families Of Victims Protest Unban On Social Media

Mixed reaction has herald the lifting of the ban on Dana Airline from flying in the Nigerian airspace.
The announcement by the the Federal Government yesterday. lifted the suspension on Dana Air’s operating licence, freeing the airline to resume commercial operation, 93 days after its aircraft crashed, killing 153 passengers on board and other people on the ground in Iju Ishaga, Lagos State.
Minister of Aviation Princess Stella Oduah said the lifting of the ban followed the government’s satisfaction with the air-worthiness of the airline after a rigorous technical, operational and financial audit.
She explained that government would continue to strengthen its oversight and regulatory functions to ensure that all airlines operating in the country, including Dana Air, adhere strictly to safety procedures as required by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Act and all other local and international regulations that ensure and promote sustainable air safety.
The operating licence of Dana Airlines was temporarily suspended following the June 3 crash as a safety precaution.
Agitation by passengers and the desire not to create a near monopoly in the aviation sector may have accounted for the lifting of the ban on the suspension, investigations have revealed.
The lifting of the ban did not come to many observers in the aviation industry as a surprise, as the dwindling fortunes of other carriers on the domestic scene may have created a wide vacuum in the sector.
Since the crash, passengers have had to struggle to get seats on the existing carriers following the closure of other carriers including Chanchangi Airlines limited, which is currently reflecting, Air Nigeria which has suspended operations to reorganise and one of the domestic carriers, which took its aircraft overseas for major repairs, leaving passengers with the choice among Aero airlines, Arik air and IRS airlines.
But the Federal government decision may not have gone down well with members of the victims of the crash if the current feelers from them are anything to go by.
The social media has been awashed since last night when the news breaks with several of the victims’ family berating the government for taking such decision without consulting the families of the victims who are yet to be paid full compensation by the airline.
Here are some of their messages that were obtained by CKN Nigeria

1.REINSTATEMENT OF DANA's FLYING LICENCE!!!

It is with great disbelief that i received the news of the reinstatement of the flying license of Dana Air.

It is barely 3Months after their carelessness & negligence took the life of my husband & 152 other passengers aboard.

The final report of the investigation of the crash is not yet out!

The revelations during the coroners inquest show that there was some form of negligence & misconduct on the part of Dana Air, but yet again, the Nigeria Government has shot itself in the leg by restoring their license.

It is apparent that there is no respect for human life in this country & Justice is long dead.

How can they I ask myself?

It is even more appalling that it is the SANs who are supposed to be ministers in the temple of Justice that are collaborators in perpetuating this injustice.

The coroners inquest which seemed to be the only hope of getting to the root of this matter is now been challenged & the validity been questioned.

Where is Justice I ask?

One would have thought that for once things would be done properly.

Some of the victim's bodies are yet to be buried, I personally know some that have not been buried, yet Dana is licenced to fly again.

Only God can save us from greedy leaders who care only about their pocket and do not give a DAMN about the well being of her citizens.

Nigerians Dana Air does not care about your safety, the crash is a testimony of that fact!

It is one thing for their license to be restored, it is another thing for you to keep them in business. If our government cannot do what is proper, we can.

I call on well meaning Nigerians who love & respect human life to boycott Dana Air.

The crash may not have directly affected you like it did me. You may not be a widow like me at the age of 26, left alone to raise a baby that was just 15 months but if we all keep quiet this one too shall pass as one of the sad many... with Tears, ONYINYE OKOCHA
2.This is a very important message! I need your help my friend.

I need you to join me and others in signing the petition that will STOP DANA AIR FROM OPERATING AGAIN IN NIGERIA or anywhere in the world!
Dana Air crashed on the 3rd of June, killing 153 people, including Dr. Levi Ajuonuma(my father). This airline was well aware that the aircraft was faulty but still took flight that fateful day! Now, 3 months after the suspension of their license, the Federal Government has decided to lift the suspension! The wounded hearts are still bleeding and not being taken into consideration here!

Please join forces with me and the families of the faithfully departed, and sign the petition. The link is below.

Thank you for standing with us against a system that really does not care about YOU!
