The recent pronouncement by the Lagos state Government to remodel and convert the house of one of Africa's greatest artiste Fela Anikulapo Kuti into a tourist centre seems not to be going down well with some of the legend fans..Our investigation as scooped showed that some fans believed the house should be left as it as a monument..But the two elder children of the Afrobeat King,Femi and Yeni feels otherwise.They believe the Lagos State initiative will be the best thing that will happen to the memory of the Icon.

- Oba David Adenaike I'm kind of tired how my people are always ready with their hands out to take and take. It's no wonder most of the politicians are very corrupt. When my mom was alive going to Nigeria was very exciting After her death, I realized many of those coming at my for finanacial assistance didn't really need help, but out of greed, they just have to hold those hands out. It's unfortunately, Fela's numerous kids many of whom are doing really well couldn't take the initiative to try to get back the grand mother's, firebrand progessive, Funmilayo and father's legacy from the government they're now out to condemn. Graceland in Memphis Tennessee is the property of Elvis Presley's family so could Kalakuta become. Complaining about the past doesn't help anyone, we ought simply have to sieze the moment and shape it for a better tomorrow. Fela and Kalakuta Republic will forever live in the hearts of many of his admirers.

Do not say what you don't know and stop trying to undermine Fela's Legacy. Turning Kalakuta into a museum has nothing to do with being a south west Yoruba thing. It is an African thing. You cant live in England and then come and tell us who have chosen to live in our Fatherland what is happening here. You have been making a series of negative comments about Fela and I have chosen to ignore them. This one takes the cake. Those who are saying Fela's kids should have done it, with what money. Which way do we turn. We celebrate Fela you yab us, we don't you yab us. Please why don't you just look at it in a positive light. How many children of popular people have managed to keep the legacy of their families alive for so long. Fela passed to the Great Beyond 15 years ago. I was 37 at the time. I am now 51. We have kept the legacy alive. With or without the negative forces that seem to be about David Adenaike is an example. None of Fela's children live in mansions or chop Government money. How can you say we should build a museum ourselves. If the Lagos State Government has decided to put the funds to keep the legacy alive, they should be commended and not yabbed like you people are doing. What has the Architect done to warrant your insults. Just design a monument befitting to a great legend. What do you know about the price of drinks. Do you live here? He is great African musician they all said...i was chocked but am not supposed to..well renovating Fela s house as museum is not enough and won't contain millions of fans world wide who will visit the place....Fela deserves a stadium -like museum where the whole world can visit.....i suggest the whole block be bought off present owners and be converted into a jumbo complex.

Another thing you should know Mr IGNORAMUS, Freedom Park's drinks are perhaps one of the cheapest in Lagos.
