Nigeria May Not Survive Beyond 2015..Tunde Bakare

Pastor of The Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare has expressed apprehension over the survival of Nigeria as a united entity by 2015 if the sliding of the country towards extinction was not arrested. Bakare, at a press conference, in Lagos yesterday raised the alarm that “unless people of goodwill rise to stop the slide, we will wake up one day and discover that Nigeria is no more.”

The cleric, who described the events of the recent past as frightening and sickening, said: “It is out of utter wickedness that Nigerians are going through all the mess,” stating that “no reasonable person can think of 2015 elections with the volume of 2012 mess un-cleared.”

Bakare said President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration was destined to bankrupt Nigeria and balkanize it completely, adding that, “unfortunately, the president himself is dancing to the drumbeat of that destiny.

“Jonathan’s destiny is to bankrupt Nigeria and we should stop him. Political tinkers are tinkering with destiny of Nigeria. Jonathan has the full support of corporate cowboys and oil vultures. If we do not rise to do what we should do, there would not be 2015 for us.

“Politicians are thinking of 2015 to fulfill self desire when 2012 is a total mess. They will kill, maim and rob with reckless abandon so that the real questions would not be asked and the real issues would not be addressed. Nigeria is under divine judgement crying for justice,” the cleric said.

He expressed optimism that those people leading the country astray would be stopped by God. He however made it clear that “nobody is asking for anybody’s blood to flow,” praying that “God that knows how to stop evil should deliver or else we are going towards extinction.”

On Lawan Farouk, Bakare expressed sadness that “the man Nigerians wanted to celebrate allowed greed to get him into trouble,” saying “he now becomes a villain instead of hero.”

However, the clergyman warned that the scandal should not be allowed to tamper with the report of the ad-hoc probe committee, suspecting that the issue was being manipulated to cause diversion and distraction.
