Critics Hit Davido Over Visit To US Strip Club
Relatively unknown before his Dami Duro song became a massive hit last year, Nigerian performing artist, Davido has since been showing some character traits which have been found largely wanting.
His first major scandal surfaced last year when he went to perform in Ghana. After the show, he was seduced by a certain Sonia Jumbo, a Nigerian girl studying in Ghana. Desirous of fame, Jumbo took pictures of them in bed and posted it on Twitter.
Davido’s reaction proved his age: 19 years. After initially reacting that he was asleep when she took the pictures, he eventually called her a bi*** on Twitter when according to critics there was no need for him to descend so low, being a public figure and a role model for fellow youths.
Soon he was embroiled in another crisis in faraway Malaysia.
During his performance there, he got dagger dancing, that is stabbing his crotch into a lady’s rear repeatedly like having anal sex and again critics were quick to point out that that was excessive for his very young age.
The latest controversy the bad boy singer has found himself in is his visit with his new chief executive, D’Banj, Kay Switch and Shina Rambo to a strip club in the United States.
American law says only 21-year-olds and above can visit striptease joints so how did 19-year-old Davido gain entrance?
"He needs to be cautioned; even his boss (D’banj) who just signed him knows this and should have told him that there are dangers in negative stuffs from fans. The same people who hail & wangle around you today will destroy you at the slightest of mistakes" Ken Okoro an entertainment lawyer in Lagos said.
The artist meanwhile has gone on to further establish himself as a giant in Nigerian music industry with the dropping of another jaw breaking Music Video ‘Ekuro’ which has gained applauds from fans and critics.
