The fate of millions of Nigerian youths spread across
the country serving their fatherland is now hanging in the balance since their
little stipends has not been paid in two months. According to a special
investigation carried out by CKN Nigeria across the country ,it was realized
that most of the Youth Corpers are now living from hand to mouth due to the inability
of the NYSC management to pay their monthly allowee of N19800 since march..This
has led to some of them engaging in several immoral activities to make ends meet.
They have also fallen victims of some dubious people especially the
ladies..Most of them posted to the far Northern part of the country were the
worst hit since the cost of going back home to seek assistance from their guidance
is proving difficult..Most of them who spoke to us in condition of anonymity believe
that the system has lost its glory and should be scrapped..When we contacted
the NYSC HQ in Abuja,our reliable inside source confirmed the development..It
went further to reveal that even NYSC staffers have not received their April
salary as at 14th May 2012..Theylaid the whole blame on the door
step of the Minister of Finance and coordinating Minister for the economy Dr
Ngozi Okonjo Iweala for refusing to release the NYSC fund and allocation .Its
yet to be ascertained why Mrs Okonjo Iweala could put the life of millions of Nigerian
youths on the line..Efforts made by us to reach her through her Special adviser Media,Paul Nwabukwu was
unsuccessful..Till now, nobody knows how long these youths will wait to receive
the stipends called allowee promised them by the President Goodluck Jonathan
