Following our exclusive exposé on the state
of insecurity and kidnapping in Imo state in the past few months, it seems the
Imo State government is now trying everything in its stead to find a means of
curbing this endemic problem that is set to make Imo another kidnapping heaven
like its sister State Abia in the past.
Our exclusive investigation both at the
government house Owerri and police command in the state revealed that already,
some test run tracking device deployed by an organization Charigold Investment
ltd has been used to track some of the kidnappers in the state.
To be specific, the recently celebrated
rescue of some kidnapped victims by the police in the state was actually
achieved through the assistance by the equipment
supplied and deployed by this company.
For instance on Monday 21/05/2012, the police swapped on the
Orogwe and Ubomiri area Imo State where kidnapped victims were held captives through the use of
this device. 16 of the kidnapped victims were released by their abductors
without ransom.
Those rescued included a pregnant banker, an aged woman, an MTN Staff a traditional ruler. They are still searching for a man who went to pay N3m ransom and was held back while the original victim was released.
