Tunji Bolaji |
The media empire of self acclaimed billionaire, Barr
Jimoh Ibrahim has been hit by mass exodus of his most competent staff.
The latest to throw in the towel is the newly appointed
Daily Editor of his flagship Newspaper, Daily Mirror,Mr Bolaji Tunji who we
have been reliably informed has dumped the paper for the newly established Telegraph
owned by former Abia State governor Orji Uzor Kalu.
Few weeks back, the Managing Director/Editor In Chief of
National Mirror also left the Newspaper.
We have also scooped that another award winning
Editor,Isioma Madike has also left.
While it cannot be confirmed why most of the best brain
in the paper are leaving the company in droves,CKN Nigeria’s investigation
revealed that the management style of Barr Jimoh Ibrahim is killing the
Newspapers.
Barr Ibrahim who is not a journalist is said to
determine the front page cover of the Newspaper and other contents to the
detriment of the core competent professionals.
He was also accused of redeployment and sacking
of staff at every simple provocation.
Recently Mr Jimoh Ibrahim demoted the Editor Daily of
the Newspaper,Mr smith because he traveled out of the country for a week even
after getting approval from the management of the paper.
Mr Jimoh Ibrahim who has his hands in several pies is
also struggling to keep afloat his second Newspaper, the 95 page Newswatch
Newspaper which has been struggling since it berthed with no adverts to support
it.
The paper was bought over from its former owners,Ray
Ekpu,Dan Agbese,Yakubu Mohammed and late Dele Giwa.
The takeover is still a subject of litigation at a Lagos High
court

I beg to disagree with the author of this story that there has been no advert to support Daily Newswatch. Mt feeling is that the author is out on a campaign of calumny against Barr. Jimoh Inrahim.
ReplyDeleteDr. Jimoh Ibrahim needs no introduction, he is the brain behind many successful business enterprise in Nigeria, Africa and beyond. What I want people to understand is that Dr Jimoh is human who is prone to mistake, if we are perceiving him as a saint that is when we will attribute much importance or relevance to his deeds. The Jimoh I known does not like people hailing him, he believes so much in his intelligence and in fairness to him, he has God given magic wand which he uses to turn dead businesses around, as evident in the newly re-packaged Daily Newswatch Newspaper under his leadership. A point to note is the fact that as robust and rich the content of the paper is, Dr Jimoh has not been fair in his dealing with his staffs and this is responsible for their leaving the company en-mass. The paper is less than a year old, with adverts from corporate and government organisation; a feast which even the best papers cannot boost of during their teething years. And for National Mirror, why wont they leave when they are being owed and threatened with sacks at the slightest provocation. Truly, God's eyes is on Dr Jimoh and he too should try as much as possible to be nice to his staff and I believe this is never too difficult for him to do only if he is willing because he has the wherewithal
ReplyDeleteHahaaaha. Laughable! Jimoh Ibrahim wrote this himself.
ReplyDeleteIgnoranmus! You don't know Jimoh and if you know him you will soon regret!
